It is estimated that by 2050 over 700 million people \u2013 or 1 in every 10 people \u2013 will have disabling hearing loss.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Disabling\u2019 hearing loss refers to hearing loss greater than 35 decibels (dB) in the better hearing ear. Nearly 80% of people with disabling hearing loss live in low- and middle-income countries. The prevalence of hearing loss increases with age, among those older than 60 years, over 25% are affected by disabling hearing loss.<\/p>\n<p>Once hearing loss is identified, it is essential that it is addressed as early as possible and in an appropriate manner, to mitigate any adverse impact.<\/p>\n<p>Measures available to rehabilitate people with hearing loss include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the use of hearing technologies, such as hearing aids, cochlear implants and middle ear implants;<\/li>\n<li>the use of sign language and other means of sensory substitution,such as speech reading, use of print on palm or Tadoma, signed communication; and<\/li>\n<li>rehabilitative therapy to\u00a0enhance perceptive skills and develop communication and linguistic abilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The use of\u00a0hearing assistive technology,\u00a0and services such as frequency modulation and loop systems, alerting devices, telecommunication devices,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>captioning services and sign language interpretation, can further improve access to communication and education for people with hearing loss.<\/p>\n<p><em>(source: WHO\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/fact-sheets\/detail\/deafness-and-hearing-loss\"><em>https:\/\/www.who.int\/news-room\/fact-sheets\/detail\/deafness-and-hearing-loss<\/em><\/a><em>)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11264\" src=\"\/app\/uploads\/sites\/11\/Picture4-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/distribution.audio-technica.eu\/app\/uploads\/sites\/11\/Picture4-1.jpg 605w, https:\/\/distribution.audio-technica.eu\/app\/uploads\/sites\/11\/Picture4-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/distribution.audio-technica.eu\/app\/uploads\/sites\/11\/Picture4-1-600x337.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ampetronic, leader in designing and manufacturing hearing loop products and technologies, has put a lot of effort in drawing people&#8217;s attention to hearing loss.
