When the University of Novi Sad Hungarian Language Teacher Training Faculty in Subotica was renovated in 2022, the old IR translation system needed an update to be able to keep up with the growing needs of the new Faculty program. After testing several brands, the technical staff decided to go with the Williams AV system.
One of the main reasons for choosing Williams AV was the reliability of the system and how well it performed in difficult circumstances. Additionally, the intuitive and user-friendly approach of the system was greatly accepted by the staff and users alike.
The first system was installed in the new amphitheatre-style classroom. As demand grew, another system was installed in the old assembly hall, which was originally built in the early 1900s. Installing the system in this historical room was a challenge, but thanks to the compactness of the infrared transmitter, the job was completed in a very short time with minimal impact on the internal architecture.
The systems offer simultaneous translation from the floor language to two additional languages, and the floor language can also be forwarded for assistive listening. The main goal was to install two independent systems, but also to be able to link them to work as one big unit. The systems consist of:
WIR RX22-4N Four-Channel Infrared Receiver
IC-2 Interpreter Control Console
IR T2 Medium-Area Infrared Transmitter
Additionally, some Audio-Technica products were used to complete the system (PRO49QL for the speakers, Audio-Technica ATH-GL3BK for the interpreters).
Our installation partner was Music AP in Serbia for this project. They were happy with this easy-to-install and reliable system we advised them to put together.
Remember Williams AV whenever you need an installation in a historic building or a church!
