How the ATSP-30 completes the Audio-Technica Link infrastructure

With the introduction of ATSP-30, the first network enabled speakers from Audio-Technica, we can now proudly say that we have the answer in house for every question that could arise in the signal chain. Your installed audio needs may now be solved with a cost-efficient, secure solution – The Audio-Technica Link infrastructure.

In the following article, you’ll find three Audio-Technica Link solutions for different size venues – from small meeting rooms, to classrooms capable of housing 40 people.

Small Meeting Room Solution

Up to 20 Participants | Approx. 7 × 9 m

Designed for smaller boardrooms and meeting spaces, this solution delivers clear and natural communication for hybrid meetings and video conferencing. A single ceiling-mounted beamforming microphone captures speech throughout the room without the need for tabletop microphones, while two ceiling speakers provide clean playback for remote participants and media content.

Powered by the Audio-Technica ATDM-0604a Digital SmartMixer, the system provides high-quality hardware Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) for professional conferencing performance. Plug-and-play USB connectivity allows simple integration with conferencing platforms and dedicated VC hardware.

The Audio-Technica LINK infrastructure keeps installation simple, cost-efficient, and secure, ensuring audio signals remain isolated from the standard IP network.

Medium Meeting Room Solution

Up to 32 Participants | Approx. 7 × 15 m

Built for larger conference and committee rooms, this configuration expands microphone coverage and introduces voice lifting functionality for improved intelligibility across longer seating arrangements.

Two ceiling array microphones ensure consistent speech pickup throughout the room, while four ceiling speakers provide both conferencing playback and local sound reinforcement. The system can reproduce speech naturally across the space, helping participants seated farther apart communicate more comfortably. The ATSP-30 in this scenario handles both the local sound, and the video conference, or any multimedia played in the room, offering a simple solution in a concise package.

High-quality hardware Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) ensures clean conferencing audio without echo artifacts for remote participants. This is beneficial for the remote participant in the video conference because they do not hear their own voice delayed.

At the core of the system is the Audio-Technica ATDM-0604a Digital SmartMixer, delivering DSP processing, conferencing integration, and hardware AEC functionality. For more even distribution of voice lifting, and even higher quality AEC, the ATDM-1012 may be chosen instead.

The result is a scalable hybrid meeting solution optimized for modern conferencing workflows and flexible room layouts.

Classroom & Training Room Solution

Up to 40 Participants | Approx. 8 × 15 m

Designed for classroom-style conference spaces and training environments, this solution provides expanded microphone coverage, flexible DSP processing, and enhanced speech intelligibility for larger audiences.

Three beamforming ceiling microphones ensure clear pickup across seating rows, while six ceiling speakers provide both conferencing playback and local sound reinforcement. More microphones are necessary, as in this unique case, all participants face in the same direction, – towards the front – and they must be picked up from the front. The system also supports voice lifting and/or local sound reinforcement functionality, helping audience questions and discussions remain intelligible throughout the room.

The Audio-Technica ATDM-1012 Digital SmartMixer offers advanced DSP processing, flexible routing, USB conferencing integration, and support for multiple room presets and seating layouts.

With support for additional presenter microphones, camera control, and hybrid conferencing workflows, the system is well suited for education, corporate training, and multipurpose presentation spaces.
